The Reigatian community gathered once again at Drop Kick Brewing in Dorking for a lively Spring Reigatian Hub evening filled with conversation, connection and local flavour.
More than 50 Reigatians - including former parents, staff and friends of RGS - came together against the backdrop of the Surrey Hills. Despite a day of truly biblical weather, which continued throughout the evening, it was wonderful to see so many still attend. With four seasons seemingly packed into just a few hours, the event proved a testament to the spirit and enthusiasm of the Reigatian community.
The evening provided a relaxed and welcoming opportunity for members of the Reigatian community and local businesses to reconnect, meet new faces and strengthen both professional and personal networks. It was particularly encouraging to see new connections being formed and fresh opportunities explored - a clear reflection of the value of a thriving and engaged community.
Guests enjoyed freshly made wood-fired pizza from Dawghouse Pizzeria alongside Drop Kick’s popular craft beers, brewed on site by Fin McCartney (RGS 2011–2018) and his team. The informal atmosphere encouraged lively conversation, with Reigatians from across different generations sharing stories, career experiences and memories of RGS.
The evening was generously sponsored by Stribe, whose support helped make the gathering possible. As an award-winning wellness and fitness coaching company, Stribe shares the Reigatian commitment to community, wellbeing and meaningful connection, values that were very much reflected throughout the evening.
Tracey Thornton, RGS Foundation Executive, spoke briefly about the growing interaction on the Reigatian Hub and the value this brings in terms of opportunities realised. Reigatians were encouraged to register for the Reigatian Hub and consider how they may be able to offer support: mentoring, work experience, sharing their experience with students and many other ways.
There was also time to remind Reigatians to enter the IMAGINE Prize Draw and how their annual entry helps support the Opportunities Fund - ensuring bursary students have access to mind-broadening opportunities through educational trips and music lessons.
Events such as the Reigatian Hub Gatherings continue to play an important role in bringing the wider RGS network together. Whether reconnecting with old friends, making professional contacts or simply enjoying good company in a fantastic setting, these occasions are a reminder of the enduring strength of the Reigatian community.
Thank you again to everyone who braved the weather to join us at Drop Kick Brewing and helped make the evening such a success.
We look forward to continuing the momentum with future Reigatian Hub Gatherings planned in both London and Manchester later this year.
