Our History
Reigate Grammar School (RGS) was founded in 1675 thanks to a generous £1,000 bequest from Henry Smith, a London merchant, to educate the poor boys of Reigate. Nearly 350 years later, his legacy still impacts the community. RGS remains on its original site, continuing the tradition of education and opportunity for all. As we approach our 350th anniversary, we invite you to join us in the Changing Lives, Building Futures campaign, celebrating our history and shaping the future through philanthropy and community support.
