Class of 2015 reunite after 10 years

Our 10-year reunion for the Class of 2015 took us to bright lights and buzz of the city. We chose a venue close to London Victoria to ensure an easy route (or we so we hope) whether you work, live or study in the city or need to travel in from the quieter home counties. The Phoenix pub is a hive of activity, with people spilling out onto the streets with after work drinks and the city lights of the surrounding offices, lighting up the historic London streets.

There's no denying that this is a perfect little venue for our Class of 2015 classmates. Positioned in 'The Snug', we offered an array of tasty snacks, chilled drinks and some nostalgia, served up in the form of the leavers' yearbook and past editions of The Pilgrims.

We were thrilled to learn of a recent wedding, delighted to hear we had a newly qualified midwife amongst us, spoke of several career direction changes, leading to a wealth of knowledge and expertise in areas that have opened up new avenues for our former students and spoke of opportunities that may support our future generations with mentoring and advice.

The group spoke fondly of their years at school and how close they have remained since. Various pcokets of friends have continued their friendships into adulthood and onto their life journey. It highlights that Reigate Grammar School holds sentiment for so many and bonds those that have the connection to the school and town. Though small, Reigate has seen many students walk the routes between school and home, continue the journey at university, work or globally and many return to their roots to forge new steps into a professional capacity and life adventure.

Jonny Hylton, RGS Foundation Director, took a brief moment, to offer a few words of advice - stay connected, stay in touch and enjoy the moments, as they pass so fast. Our Reigatian Hub online platform helps our community to stay in touch, make new connections, rekindle old ones, provide knowledge and expertise in business and industry, or allow people to reach out for mentoring, work placements or even a friendly face when overseas.

Thank you to everyone that came out to see us and reunite with their friends, hopefully a few connections were renewed as well as providing the chance to make new memories. We missed those that couldn't be with us and hope to see you all again soon (and not wait until your next reunion....Silver - 25 years)!
