Fairy lights adorned the signature olive tree that greets guests as they enter The Cage, with delicate red and white baubles hanging from its branches, making it a beautifully festive addition to the venue. Gingerbread lebkuchen, mini mince pies and spiced biscuits sat on platters to accompany the mulled wine, craft beer and excellent wine selection on offer.
Guests arrived, wrapped up and warm under winter coats and scarves, ready to brave the crisp night air. Christmas lights twinkled above the registration desk, where guests received their exclusive event wristband, drinks voucher and a chance to win a prize in the advent calendar lucky dip.
A huge thanks to Tali, the RGS Polyphony and Brass ensemble for their beauitful renditions of 'Once in Royal David's City' and 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing'. It's a busy time for everyone this time of year, but none more so than those all required to perform in the repertoire of Christmas events. It didn't go unnoticed and we thank them for their time.
Another big thank you goes out to our Pilgrim Brewery hosts - Rory Fry-Stone (former parent) and Adrian Rothera (RGS 1977-1984) for letting us use The Cage for our event. That concludes all three venues under the Pilgrim Brewery umbrella: The Hatch, The Pilgrim Brewery Taproom and The Cage for our Christmas drinks, with this being the one most commented on. The pictures really don't do it justice. Thank you to Tiger Fry-Stone (RGS 2011-2018), Irsi and the amazing staff at The Cage for all their help.
It was a wonderful event to end 2025 and we look forward to 2026 for more Reigatian Hub events.
